Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Threw it away unfortunately but still progress made.

Need a consistent free taker, particularly when you are only getting half as many frees as your opponent.

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

We ran out of steam against Kerry and we ran out of steam a week ago against Dublin. Only one change to the team. We probably don’t have the depth to do much more but you’d worry about our ability to match Tyrone’s work rate over the 70 odd minutes. I’d also worry about our ability to match their ph...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Good post Podsy. Do we have enough mobility in front of the wing backs to provide that cover without totally blunting the attack?

I agree about the score line. Even in the first 50
Minutes Dublin could have had at least two more goals on another day. We butchered one goal chance in the same period.

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

for discussion - from PROC - Outside the county, Cork are seen as a soft touch - lovely hurlers, great speed, but if you get in their faces they'll crumble, like Galway back in nineties and noughties. This absolutely has to change. Losing is one thing, but Cork have to become far harder to beat, wh...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

The KK goal sums up what is wrong with this Cork team. Two forwards didn’t even bother to try to block the defenders working the ball up the pitch. How many more times do we have to talk about work rate?

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Without wanting to take anything from the effort last night and the joy of seeing Cork footballers willing to give it a lash and show some genuine skill, we have to acknowledge that it’s a sign of how low we had sunk that we are happy with last night. We have definitely made progress but the positiv...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Some huge positives to take from that despite the size of the beating. Three soft goals given away but huge fight all over the pitch and won a lot of 50/50 balls. Some players need another year or two at this level but the super 8s will be a huge help in their development. Bottom line though is that...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Best of luck to the team tonight. The question over Dublin is whether the second half against Meath disguised the issues the first half showed up or whether their management team just needed to get them to switch on at half time. If Meath had taken their chances in the first half it could have been ...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

I hope I’m wrong, but that team could be seriously up against it. The match ups in defence will be interesting but I’d have serious concerns about our ability to stop KK getting goals. I have serious concerns about the defensive instincts of five of our six defenders to be honest and am worried that...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Good luck to the footballers today. It would be a huge step forward if they could win a must win championship game like this and make the super 8’s. Laois won’t make it easy and we’ll need Maguire to be at his best.
