Re: Cork U20 Football 2020

Let’s not be too critical. They’re still young fellas. I only got to listen to it on Radio Kerry but between the yerraing it sounded like our kick out strategy played into Kerry’s hands in the second half and we had to work much harder for scores than they did at times. We were only a point down wit...

Re: Cork Senior Hurling 2020

Will be interesting to see what that half back line is like if someone runs at them rather than raining ball down on them. Good to see the selectors mix it up a bit anyway.

Re: Cork Senior Football 2020

Are we Mayo supporters now? Beaten/cursed before the season even starts? Corkness how are ya! I share Rantys concerns about the manager to be honest. Ronan McCarthy seems like a decent man and has done a huge amount for football in Cork, but no serious tier one county would tolerate Division 3 footb...

Re: Recommendations for Cork Hurling Management positions announced

That 'new era' you speak of Dhá Lámh is most likely the era when people can no longer call a spade a spade. Now where did I put that Book of Genesis? You can call a spade a spade in this era Ranty as long as you have counselling available for the ones who were brought up believing they were shovels...

Re: Recommendations for Cork Hurling Management positions announced

First of all thanks to all who have been willing to answer the call and allow their names to be put forward. Being involved in the preparation of any county team is a massive ask in this day and age. When that team is a Cork hurling team where expectation continues to be based on fading glories then...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

To be fair, once he moved on past the tap dancing and piggy back drills, he probably felt the need to explain things very slowly and very often to that lot.

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

It’s a scary prospect alright Ranty. A wet Sunday in Longford with one of your favorite refs on the whistle to win the right to play for Sam. If the Morris Minor can make it as far as Sligo you might have to stop off at one of the “RC church” things they signpost up there.

Re: Other GAA

Ranty, I think it is only fair to our green and gold cousins to point out that they have never played fast and loose with the money. Micko was doing them a favour driving fellas to games as a player and only ever sought what a reasonable taxi driver on the Waterville omnibus would expect. Jack O Con...

Re: Other GAA

Leesider, there’s no need for the personal stuff. What player development grants did we apply for in the past five years that were refused? The suggestion was that we had prioritised building grants over player grants. We know we applied for building grants. We know that there were suggestions that ...

Re: Other GAA

Ranty, Tommy’s main regret seems to be that he got sucked in by the media coverage leading up to the replay. Colm O’Rourke would probably have a little wry smile at the thought that he could have shown a few more the line that day, but you can see why he’d be happy enough with having the same ref fo...
