Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

You can almost see the starting 15 in championship. Meyler is so linear. It'll be practically the same team as last year. Our league is about building the bench, not the starting 15. I'd like to see a bit more experimentation but that's not going to happen. We've only 2 games left This is my point ...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

Nice to get the win in a game in which we looked asleep for the entire first half. Clare seemed the better team but Cork won comfortably enough in the end, go figure. This new league structure has blown the competitive edge completely from Corks games. We always struggle with winter hurling anyway ...

Re: Cork u20 football 2019

Keith Ricken, Maurice Moore, Micheál Ó Croinín and Colm O Neill the management at up. That's a vast improvement on plan A, good to see recently retired players stepping in. According to Proc, they playing Waterford Seniors in Mitchelstown tonight That seems to me a stronger management team than the...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

Colm Spillane doesn't have much luck with injuries...on that timeline and depending how the recovery goes he may well be dodgy for the Munster championship. Has come on a lot in last 2 years, our fullback line will be much weaker without him...and its by no means watertight at best.

Re: Premier Intermediate Hurling Championhip 2018

Unfortunately they have nobody to blame over themselves. They took the bait and reacted to Galway men throwing shapes. The second red was still very harsh. They still could have snatched it if they kept a level head. They will be gutted as they were the better team overall in y opinion. Would have ...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

I can't & won't claim to be Cork football's greatest supporter and tend to watch them from afar, particularly as the dial dropped so sharply over the last 4 years. But first and foremost I am a Corkman, a proud one, who wants to see us compete as best in everything from hurling to rowing to tidd...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

Don't see what's to be gained by playing Lehane & Horgan at this time of year. We know what they can do in summer...and they're not winter players. Unless we're really trying and failing to get points on the board, this is the time to see what others can do. We need 25 players going into champio...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

I know its winter and only the first week in February, and we're only feeling our way into the year, and the state of the pitch etc etc...but I just can't shake off that feeling of deja vu when looking at this Cork team. In that we will likely be competitive enough when the time comes but still lack...

Re: GAA Books

Its a good few years since I read 'Hooked ' but it still stands out in my mind as probably the best hurling book I ever read. My recollections of the book are the wonderful & deep insights Justin gave in relation to hurling in general, hurling skills, tactics, Cork, and life in general. Always m...
