Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

Colm Barry must be worth a look at for fullback in 2019 I've no doubt he has been penciled in for games in the Munster league, he had a solid season. Even if players aren't used in the next championship, I'm all for bringing youngsters in to show them what's required of them by training with the li...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

Disappointed to hear Lorcan McLoughlin has called it a day at intercounty level, for a guy still the right side of 30 you would have thought he still had something to offer. Sure, he had slipped down the pecking order behind Fitzgibbon & Cooper but this panel could still benefit from having a fe...

Re: Senior Hurling Championship 2018

Another first round exit for our representatives in Munster. When is the last time one of our teams did any damage in this? The last Cork team to win a Munster title was Newtownshandrum in 2009. They won three titles in seven years. Since then, we've only managed to win a solitary match in the comp...

Re: Senior Football Club Championship 2018

The Barrs today proved that a good club side will nearly always beat a good divisional side. It was a very enjoyable game of football 3-14 to 2-14 says it all. Plenty scores and lots of good football by both teams. Maguire was incredible and drove at the Duhallow defenders all day. Having said that...

Re: Cork Hurlers 2019

Have read in a few places that Aidan Walsh will be back on the Cork panel for next year. Surely that ship has sailed? I'd rather a few of the u21 panel drafted in, the likes of Dalton, Conor Cahalane, Turnbull be given a go. Yeah, you would have to think that ship has well and truly sailed at this ...

Re: Senior Football Club Championship 2018

The reports I've seen of the Haven v Duhallow replay suggest it was a seriously high quality & entertaining contest..."high quality" & "entertaining" being two terms not commonly associated with anything Cork football these days. Of course, "high quality" and &q...

Re: Senior Hurling Championship 2018

To be honest, I thought it was a disappointing game in many respects. Imokilly were always in control and credit to them for that but as a neutral I was hoping for some real cut & thrust hurling, which we didn't get. Some good hurling and nice scores but in a way that's a reflection of Cork hurl...

Re: Senior Football Club Championship 2018

On the one hand, an entertaining day of football, on the other hand a worrying day as a Cork fan. Not one established player today turned a head, not one newbie stuck the lámh up and screeched "pick me", and we suffered the same old weak-ass refereeing that produces the sane old weak-ass ...

Always felt he was more suited to it to be honest.

I've always felt football was a more natural fit than hurling for him.
