Re: Cork Footballers 2019

One of the feeds from the ground said that the Cork team was out on its feet with 15 minutes left. The most basic of requirements - that a team is fit to play - shown to be missing in each of these league matches. And McCarthy said after the Tyrone match last summer that he knew what had to be done ...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

I would hope that Tadgh Corkery is not opting out of sympathy to DD. If DD is not willing to involve himself with Cork due to a petty dispute, as has been mentioned previously, or for any other trivial matter, he is not worth bothering with.

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

I was at the match last Saturday. Two observations: 1) Collins was sent off after the referee consulted the umpires. No, not those behind the Donegal goalkeeper but those behind the Cork goalkeeper. What was our no. 14 doing at full back? Kerrigan was in a similar position at other times during the ...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

I'm delighted to see this forum hasn't yet regressed to its level but over on PROC the discussion has descended to eulogising profusely Kerry's "triumphs" of recent years and its current squad as evidence of its eternal glory. That is bullshit. Kerry has won one AI in the past ten years ow...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

Listening in, Tom Clancy seemed to have a fine game. He was on the ball regularly - the mark of someone willing to take responsibility. Likewise, Kerrigan - someone who could have waltzed off into the sunset before now owing the county nothing. There are clearly problems at the back, illustrated in ...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

More of the same. Brian Hurley starting seems very strange as his form since his return from injury has been poor. Peter Kelleher must feel like a yo-yo, being taken on and off the panel so frequently. Looking at the Sunday Game last weekend, O'Rourke and O'Se showed how there is always a Dublin for...

Re: Cork Footballers 2019

I'd pick Kelleher at 14 as well. Would give you the 'direct' option that should be part of a varied attack. He also took no shite from the opposition when he came on against Clare. Unfortunately, these may be attributes that the current management may rank well down the list.
