Re: Cork U21 Hurling 2018

Fr O Neills 3-24 Midleton 4-18 AET. Rather like the game against Douglas, Midleton got off to a poor start, and found themselves five points down before they started to make an impression on the game. An early goal gave O’Neills a cushion which took them to, half time when – with the help of a goal ...

https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/sport/gaa/frank-murphy-insists-status-of-county-championships-must-be-maintained-890953.html I agree with Frank on some of this, but it's rather odd that the "expansion" of the inter-county competitions has at the same time contracted the time al...

Re: County convention December 10

I understand you annoyance now, fair enough, and fair play to you. I live some miles outside the town whose club I support. Many many, many decades ago when I was young enough to play myself and transport was not as easy as it is now (relatively speaking), I played for two country clubs which formed...

Re: County convention December 10

Seamus Harnedy's name also popped into my mind when I read it, and yes, they want replays, and so do I. There is plenty of room for club games, if they are organised properly. In the Cork county championships, why is there a need for a loser's round? It's championship and if you can't win it, you s...

Re: County convention December 10

I think the idea is that sometimes you get a very strong divisional side which is practically a county side and that unbalances the championship a good deal, although this only happens occasionally. I don’t mind the divisional sides myself. It gives good junior and intermediate players a chance to g...

Re: Cork Ladies Football

Congratulations to Mourneabbey on winning the Senior All-Ireland Ladies Club Football Championship. I only saw the first half, but they were well in command at that stage and leading by 9 points at half time. According to the report from the 42 (below), Foxrock outscored them in the second half, (4 ...

Re: County convention December 10

Glen Rovers have two very interesting motions for convention. One, if passed would see the end of divisional sides competing in the county club championship, the other would put restrictions on players outside Cork playing with the colleges in the championship. St Ita's also have a motion to do away...

Re: Cork U21 Hurling 2018

Premier 1 Under-21 hurling championship semi-finals Fr O’Neills 3-23; Blackrock 0-13 Midleton 1-18; Douglas 1-17 Conditions were a bit mucky, but at least the air was dry for both matches. We arrived at just half time in the first match to find Fr O’Neills leading Blackrock by about 10 points. Throu...

They just don't give a damn, they have to fiddle anyway!"
