The display of the new players last night was encouraging and also the resolution of the team that they didn't give up when things seemed to be going against them. One place where Cork still fall down is in winning the ball in meles on the ground. I would say that four times out of every five Kilkenny won those balls last night. It would make a huge difference if Cork could win their share of broken ball, because they are excellent when in possession.

There is no doubt that Cork got on top finally after the injury to Killian Buckley, but Cork were fielding an experimental side as well, and put in a very good shift of honest endeavour. What Cork person can't be pleased at that?

Wexford next week will be a very different proposition because overall, they are a more experienced side, and, of course, they have the Davy factor! Last year we won our first game and lost the next two. Let's hope we can be more consistent this year.

Its so true,,,any time you beat Cats is a good day. Can never beat them enough,,,arrogant prick supporters. Wtf's the story with scoreboard lights, come on,get the basics right CB.
As for match, great to see new players coming through,we're gona need them during league and championship. Senior players standing up too, good to see we have back up free taker. One step at at a time lads,Yella Bellies will be tough goin but were making all the right moves so far.

His neck was in brace on the stretcher. Could be more serious than concussion I'd say.

Neck brace is a precautionary procedure with all head injuries particular with concussion.

What are we looking at for next Sunday? Hoggie to come back in I suppose, maybe at Kingstons expense? Some more experimenting further out the field?

It seems certain Horgan will be included in one corner and also Harnedey at full. I would expect Luke Meade to make a return in the other corner, but large experimentations in the half line.

Hoggie, Nash and Cooper to come back for the Wexford match? Interesting to see who'll make way. Kingston Collins and Lawton? Meade will be considered too. Hopefully the tempo will be like the last day. The result isn't the main thing but consistency is what I'd be looking for in the league. It was nice to see the forwards going for goal instead of taking the soft opinion as they did too often in the past few years. Goals always puts doubt in the defence
