Sean Hayes has stepped down as u20 manager to be replaced by Gene O Driscoll ...so no connection now between Senior and u20 teams.

Might have something to do with the fact that he's not flavour of the week with one or two team prospects. Strange decision to jump ship
mid-stream. We might hear more about this later.

If Gene O Driscoll is now manager who will replace him as a selector? Or maybe all this year's selectors have also stepped down.. Hopefully they have a panel put together and are doing strength & conditioning by now

Who'll replace Gene O'Driscoll as manager more like?

GENE O'Driscoll has stepped down as Cork U20 football manager.

The well-known West Cork native and Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh club man has been involved with numerous Cork teams over the years and enjoyed club success with the likes of Skibb and Newcestown. His three sons Colm, Kevin and Brian all played with the Rebels seniors this decade, though have featured so far for Ronan McCarthy on this year's panel.

Gene O'Driscoll had worked under Seán Hayes last year, who doubled up as U20 boss and senior selector.

His departure is a blow to the young footballers on the panel, given preparation was underway for the championship over the winter.

Speaking on behalf of the County Board, chairperson Tracey Kennedy said: "On behalf of Cork GAA, I would like to thank Gene for the service he has given to Cork football, particularly as a mentor to various teams at U20 and U21 level for the last number of years."

An appointments committee will now be set up to recommend a new management team for 2019.

Aidan Kelliher (Clondrohid), Jim O'Donoghue (St Finbarr's) and Sean Bownes (Castlemartyr) had been announced last winter as selectors with O'Driscoll.

Presume at this stage of the game he has to run with whatever panel his predecessor assembled
