Many congrats to irishexaminer.com for streaming the Fitzgibbon final live, a great initiative.
Serious win for UCC against serious opposition in a serious hurling match.
Conway ( and Kingston ) was outstanding, but good to see Cork 10 / 12 players back-boning the team,
all played well especially when the chips were down in the 2nd half.
Downey ( I wasn't a fan ) continues to improve and looking more and more like an inter county hurler

He didn't steal my show as I only watched the football. Tried watching the hurling for 10 minutes but can't see that little ball at the best of times
and the steps and throws don't float my boat. There was a time when I never missed a Munster final in Thurles no matter who was
in it, but this new game with rucks and scores from another parish is not for me.
Very impressed with Gore and Buckley for CIT in the football and of course O Mahony for Mary i. Cant read too much into it though as it was
fairly tame stuff without a lot of physicality.

Strongly managed average bunch of players playing with togetherness, heart and belief,
When will we next see Cyrils' hat and broad smile on the Croke Park steps !

Somehow managed to sit through all 72 minutes of the 2014 football on TG4 today. I'm biased ,obviously, but the 2010 final gets an awful lot of flack from neutrals compared to 2014.

This youtube channel is after uploading the trilogy of Cork - Kerry games in 2008 (among plenty of others), including analysis. Skip to around 1:38:00 below for the beginning of the minor miracle in the drawn semi-final:

John Hayes slotting that penalty one of the most nerveless things you'll ever see from a player in either code. On another note, I always despised him during these clashes but how Donaghy didn't leave the field with his jaw spinning that day is still infuriating. The amount of fuck acting he got up (although Aidan O'Mahony was probably worse, and Cooper not far off). The goading he was giving Hayes before taking that penalty had me celebrating it as if it was real time.

Haven't got around to watching the replay yet, don't know if I have it in me.
