Rena Buckley stepping away from the panel for this year . She'll be a huge loss.

The fall has begun for this ladies team. A few puzzling decisions again .

Tuff ask in qualifiers to reach quarters.

Munster Ladies football championship

KERRY 2-15
CORK 2-13

A transition is taking place. Hopefully it won't be long before they get up to the top again. As of now, they are still All-Ireland champions.

Well, they were going to have to move on some time, although the championship is not exactly the best time to start.

Ladies football qualifier:

Cork 0-14; Monaghan 1-10

Cork clawed their way into the quarter-finals after an edgy game against Monaghan in Tullamore today.

Later in the day, Cork also won the All Ireland Ladies minor final, beating Galway by 5-11 to 1-4.

Great win for minors....some have 5 all Ireland medals at underage. Big scalp though at U16 and U14...last all Ireland win was U16 2014 Shane Roynane.....no All Ireland win at U14/16 since! Prior to that Cork have dominated at underage.

So we have the same ole bull again by both female boards on Saturdays fixtures...i think it is appalling this day and age this still exists!!
In fact I'm about to go on a rant now that I've started.....

My expereince to date ;Cork Camoige managers telling intercounty players not to compete in ladies football club championship.....Ladies football intercounty selectors telling intercounty players not to compete in camoigie club championship. Why does this still exist, surely common sense prevails ????

No coming together to thresh out the problem is the reason. They need to talk because the present situation isn't good for either of them.

All-Ireland quarter-final.

Cork 6-19; Galway 1-10.

Galway were a lot tougher nut to crack than appears from the score line. They dominated earlier on and once in possession, were hard to dispossess. The referee probably contributed to this, giving a free for almost any contact. An instance of this was when Galway ran the ball all the way from their own goals to put the ball in the Cork net at the other side without a hand being laid on them, as Cork were reluctant to foul. Galway had no such compunction, bringing down their opponents to end a few Cork attacks. But Cork worked the ball cleverly for their goals.
