All-Ireland Ladies Gaelic Football, Quarter-Final

Cork 6-19; Cavan 3-8.

Easy victory in the end, but not so easy in the first half. Those three Cavan goal have to be a concern.

There you are. The Cavan match should have sent out a warning, but apparently it was not heeded.

I saw the last five minutes on TG4's You Tube channel. They had a chance to equalise with virtually the last kick of the game, but as there were only seconds left the kick was rushed and went wide.

If they don't tighten up the defence they will have no chance against the likes of Dublin - that is if they even get the chance to play them. As far as I know, Cork still top their section.

Report here.

Ladies National Football league Division 1

Cork 1-9; Westmeath 0-6

Cork Ladies footballers struggled a great deal in this match with Westmeath’s blanket defence. Because of it they found it hard to get close enough to shoot, but at the other end they defended well enough to make any thought of a Westmeath victory unlikely. A lot to do yet to get up to proper speed.
