The Kilkenny county final between Dicksboro and James Stephens on TG4 on Sunday was an exciting game to watch for the neutral - 4 goals scored for each team.

Certainly the forwards on both sides were lively but equally certainly the defences were abysmal.

I remember watching a Kilkenny county final a few years ago and being surprised at the fussiness of the referee. No so the referee last Sunday. Practically anything went. Fouls went unchecked and even when players were lying on the ground, sometimes attempting to cover the ball, he let play continue.

And the most cringe worthy presentation imaginable, saved by the acceptance speech of Mr Andy Moran. Class individual.
Those interviews of three embarrassed players by whatshername are so goddamn amateurish and typical of RTE.
They will never learn. A sad outfit paid for by citizens.

Kilkenny's new jersey. It's not bad. It's better than Hull City's.

I just watched the Fenway Hurling Classic final on TG4. What an abomination! Hockey style corners when a defender puts the ball behind his own line, body-checking and jersey pulls allowed ad infinitum. Charging with the ball allowed and when someone steps in their way they are given a free and the defended has to step aside and let them continue. The excuse for this kind of nonsense is to attract Americans to hurling.

Americans are already playing hurling - proper hurling - although perhaps not extensively. God forbid that this crap should ever influence them.
