The fact that Gleeson got off is further proof that GAA administrators discipline players only when it suits. Utter joke of an organisation.

I think you made many valid points Maurice, but it still rankles when people worry about A. Gleeson missing a final having trained so hard and being so talented etc. I find it annoying that lads like Horgan, Nash and so on won't get to play in this year's final despite Gleeson's actions. I only learned of the incident after the game, up until then I was just sorry it hadn't played out 15 on 15, as it might have proved a thrilling finish.

Not surprised to read about the chanting by the Waterford supporters, huge amount of scumbags among their support. I remember them chanting racist abuse at Sean Og O hAilpin years ago.

Every county has them. I heard Davy Fitz and Mullane getting desperate abuse from some of our "supporters".

True enough Bams. There's always a few everywhere I suppose.
Depends on the nature of things too. Was it in 1990 that the chant from Cork lads on the hill was 'Joe Cooney's sheep have maggots' because he used to be on an ad dosing sheep. Even Galway people enjoyed that because it was good natured.
Anyway between Chants, Flags and No Bans this week it's enough to keep somewhat distracted from Cork being out of the championship.

I remember one Munster championship game between Cork and Limerick, where the chant of some Ballincollig lads was "Who'll put the ball in the Limerick net - Jimmy Barry-Murphy." How do I know they were from Ballincollig? They were also chanting "If you come from Ballincollig, clap your hands (clap your hands)!"

Actually Cork scored no goal that day and only won by a couple of points.

My favourite chant memory was when I was 12, 1989 All-Ireland semi-final v Dublin, I was about 11/12 and whole load us from the club were in the old Cusack right next to the Hill.

For most of the second half we were chanting (to the tune of London Bridge is falling down)

Hill 16 is falling down
Falling down, falling down
Hill 16 is falling down
My fair lady

Build it up in red and white
red and white, red and white
Build it up in red and white
My fair lady

In fairness we were kids and the crowd in the hill nearest us were in knots (well at least until we sang the 20th time)

Whatever about the football manager position, has anyone heard anything about Kieran Kingston staying on/being retained?

Kieran should continue and so should his co selectors. They made good progress and unearthed some good talent this year. They should continue the search and blood these players in the league's as there are still a few weak spots in the outgoing panel. Onwards and upwards.
