I'd have to agree with Lurker re the ref. 18 frees to 5 is obviously disproportionate but, given Dalton's excellence from the dead ball against Waterford, I'm sure Limerick were intensely drilled to concede as few frees as possible. Dalton (I think it was him), had his jersey blatantly pulled back on one occasion, the ref appeared to play advantage but when none accrued a free should have been awarded. The one near the endline where he gave a free against Dalton ( that man again!) was a very poor decision, and he correctly gave a throw-in after the silly retaliation under his nose near the sideline in the 1st half. Certainly the ref is not the reason we lost the game, Cork boxed above their weight against a very fine side.
As for the referee in the same stadium last Saturday................

Perhaps if Fitzgibbon and Meade were there in Limerick, it could have
been a different story..Still we weren't far off I suppose.
Next year should hopefully be our year

Hurling is a PHYSICAL game, its up to the refs to officiate by the rule book

Of course it's a physical game. But you can't win titles with just physicality.
