The last Cork team to win a Munster title was Newtownshandrum in 2009. They won three titles in seven years. Since then, we've only managed to win a solitary match in the competition, Glen Rovers beating Partrickswell by a point in the 2016 semi before losing to Ballyea in the final.
Outside of that Newtownshandrum side, you have to go back to 1987 for Cork winner, Midleton, the second of their two titles that decade.
We won 10 in-a-row from 71-80, with the first eight going on to win the All Ireland. We've only won five Munster and two All Ireland titles in the forty odd years since, and now officially nothing in the last decade.
Jesus, that's stark alright when you look at those stats.
Didn't Newtown win the All-Ireland around 2003/2004, presume you're counting that?
But either way, God its a bleak return alright.
To be fair, I thought it was always going to be a big ask for Midleton, coming so soon after a county final loss it would be difficult to recover momentum and motivation so quickly.
