Knocknagree 0-17, Rockchapel 3-7
Mitchelstown 2-11, Kinsale 1-9

Cill na Martra 2-22, Ballinora 0-6. Some hiding. However, what I note from this game on Twitter was that CnM had 48 players listed FORTY EIGHT. I've never seen or heard of that before

Any views on the involvement of 'second teams' in these competitions? I can see the benefit for the clubs themselves but I feel it's detrimental to the competition as a whole.

Some seem to be strong like for instance Barrs second football team and Midletons 2nd hurling team but others are just making up the numbers and devaluing the competition. We all know of Clons junior B team being thrown up Intermediate at the drop of a hat. Where else would ya get it?

Not in Kerry anyway. As far as I understand, the likes of Crokes and Kerins O'Rahillys have second teams but they only play in the county leagues, not the various Junior or Intermediate championships.

They'll have strong views in Knocknagree tonight. Beaten by the Barrs second team. Knocknagree having to play against the Barrs who have only played one senior championship game. I'm for second teams playing in intermediate provided they got there on merit but I think senior clubs should have to nominate 20 players fort senior. I don't know how many the Barrs used v Carrigaline in R1 but I doubt it would have been more than 17.

Barrs beaten by Aghabullogue. A mid cork final with Cill Na Martra. Desmond got a red in the semi final. Was it a straight red? Big loss if it was.
