I was at the games in Killagh on Saturday evening. Fr O'Neils fully deserved it. Their forwards were more alert and the whole team smothered any threat. Castlelyons did well to hang on in the end after having a lead of 7or 8 pts. Youghal seemed to play into their hands by hitting a lot of long meaningless ball that wasn't getting any results but saying that Colm Spillane went back FB at the start 2nd half and was very cool under pressure.

I see Ballincollig are playing Meelin tomorrow in the Intermediate Championship. I cannot think of a bigger gulf in playing population.

Ballincollig were complaining on twitter that the game was fixed for a venue closer to Meelin too. Well Meelin won anyway

I don't see an Intermediate Championship thread (apologies if there is one)

Results from tonight
Kilbrittain 2-15, Ballygarvan 0-16
Douglas 2-13, Innicarra 1-8. Ive noticed Inniscarra have fallen way off the pace, that' was Douglas 2nd team right?

I was at the Cloyne vs Youghal match earlier. Cloyne won 1-20 to 2-13. Cloyne won't do much damage in later rounds but they were far more intelligent than most of the Youghal lads. It's incredible how some seasoned players from the seaside could be so clueless when it comes to defending. Paudie was centre back and had a very comfort hour with his reading of the game, saying that Youghal made it easier for him when they found hiim with 4or5 puck outs. Cooper fought well throughout but even he couldn't carry this poor Youghal side. I'm open to correction but I think Youghal have won only 1 Cork championship match since they last won this competition and that was a senior game against Killeagh
