Even though I wasn't at it, a 2pt win in Kilkenny must restore some confidence to the lads especially after last week.

Well on top in last 20 mins, maybe lucky to get second goal but deserved it, Lehane was so unlucky not to have 2 goals to his name but played really well all day. Funny how when he's given responsibility, he really steps up. Walsh looked sluggish, new lads did well overall. Nice to beat that shower anytime

Cork are like Jekyll and Hyde. In contrast to the Tipp match, they put pressure on Kilkenny throughout yesterday's match, particularly the forwards, and Kilkenny made a lot of mistakes under this pressure. It also was nice to see the forwards go for goal whenever they sniffed an opportunity. They played lovely crisp hurling in the back line, although inclined to go a pass too far sometimes. Yes, it was a "nothing match", but Kilkenny always want to win, and this time they couldn't. Also winning in Nolan park is good any time it happens.

That's three years in a row now that Cork have finished bottom of the table and won the relegation playoff. There's something about this sort of thing which says Never Say Die, even when you're dead, which is commendable.

Hard to figure out where this team is. A strange league..3 wins, 3 defeats..up and down performances, no new players of note, relying on the same reliables. Good v Limerick, horrific v Tipp, no idea what Sunday's performance was like bar media reports.

Not sure what John Meyler was hoping to get out of it but it all seems a bit of same ol, same ol. Would have liked to see a few newcomers make a real mark but that hasn't happened. So, 8 weeks to championship and bar injuries the starting 15 v Tipp will probably be the same as last year. Not encouraging to go the distance.

Looking forward to it all the same. Last year's Munster championship gave us some of the best hurling ever...with 5 teams who each can beat any of the others on any given day, this year should be equally good.

That's practically the championship team. Fair play to them. I wonder what Kilkenny will bring.
